Using A Jar in Spring and Autumn
Place 70 to 80 grams of liver in a two litre jar and about one third water.
Place Gordys flytrap fitting on the jar. Put a cut in the bait and place a small stone or weight in the cut to keep the bait below the water. The reason to keep the bait below the water is to prevent the flies from laying eggs on the bait as when maggots form they give off ammonia and that tells other flies not to enter.
Then place two small weights on the fitting to prevent a gust of wind from displacing the fitting and place in a sunny position.
